Rodas is a municipality and city in the Cienfuegos Province of Cuba.

It was founded in 1859[1] under the name of Lechuzo. In 1879 it was renamed Rodas in honour of capitán general Caballero de Rodas. The municipality is divided into the barrios of Ariza, Cabecera, Cartagena, Ciego Montero, Congojas, Jabacoa, Limones, Medidas, Santiago, Soledad and Turquino.[1]

Demographics

In 2004, the municipality of Rodas had a population of 33,477.[3] With a total area of 552 km2 (213 sq mi),[2] it has a population density of 60.6 /km2 (157 /sq mi).
